‘Andhra Pradesh is an Indian state located in the southeastern part of the country, along the eastern coast. It is bordered by Odisha to the northeast, Chhattisgarh to the north, Telangana to the northwest, Karnataka to the west, and Tamil Nadu to the south. Andhra Pradesh has an area of approximately 1,62,970 sq. km and a coastline of about 974 kilometres along the Bay of Bengal, the longest coastline among Indian states. The state hosts major ports including Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam, Gangavaram and Kakinada, with Visakhapatnam being one of India’s largest and oldest deep-water ports as well as a key refining hub housing HPCL’s Visakh Refinery.
Andhra Pradesh ranks 8th in terms of area and 10th in terms of population in the country. Its nominal GSDP is approximately USD 160 billion (2021-22). The state has been positioning itself as a green hydrogen and renewable energy hub, leveraging its long coastline, port infrastructure, and strong solar and wind resource potential to support large-scale green hydrogen production and export-oriented industrial development.‘
